    The Idaho National Laboratory's nuclear energy role is to provide leadership, science, technology and engineering demonstration support for advanced nuclear energy technologies that help the nation meet its energy security needs. The INL's national security role is to provide science and technology solutions to the nation's nuclear non-proliferation concerns, develop science-based solutions for protecting critical infrastructure and provide applied solutions to defense and intelligence community clients.   • The Department of Energy (DOE) has completed the Final Environmental Assessment for the National Security Test Range and determined that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) (2,7 MB Adobe Acrobat File Image) was appropriate.  The draft EA was made available for 30-day public review and comment.  DOE considered all comments made on the draft EA when developing the final EA and selecting the alternative that best meets the purpose and need.
